COMBINATION PADLOCK BYPASS TOOL

The earliest known combination lock was excavated in a Roman period tomb on the Kerameikos, Athens. Attached to a small box,
it featured several dials instead of keyholes. In 1878 a German man by the name of Joseph Loch was said to have invented the modern
combination lock for Tiffany's Jewellers in New York City, and from the 1870s to the early 1900s made many more improvements in the
designs and functions of such locks.

This probably the smallest bypass tool for Covert Method of Entry (CME) in the world.
Designed for carry and concealment with our APEK (Advanced Personal Escape Necklace) and Plan B this tool can be used
to quickly open common Combination Padlocks such as the Master Lock 178D without the need for the set combination.

Simply insert the tip of the tool into the left side of wheel #2 at a slight angle and then push down.
Some padlocks require the shackle to be depressed and released and others can be pulled open once as you push down on the tool.

The tool material is marine grade 316 stainless steel so it will not rust.
The new version (11APR2020) now features a corrugated handle to assist with extracting the tool.

Tips:

- Ensure the numbers on the padlock are orientated the right way up before you insert the tool.
- On the Master Lock 178D the 4 wheels will be aligned on the right-hand side of the padlock.
- The tool can be inserted with the straight edge up or straight edge down (try both ways to see what works best for your lock).
- Straight edge down works best for the Master Lock 178D.

SAD-TOOL 3.0 (SPECIAL ACTIVITIES DEVELOPMENT)

In addition to defeating handcuffs without a key the SAD-Tool can be used to open budget padlocks as well as most filing cabinet locks
and tool chests without a key. Some heel and toe locking dogs on padlocks can also be opened by simply bypassing the pins on a key-way
all together using the spike part of the tool to release the locking dog faster than standard picking often can.

Corrosion resistant 304 Full Hard Stainless Steel that differs from other forms of 304 in that it has been
hard cold rolled to its full hard condition. This increases its fatigue life. In its full hard condition, type 304 stainless steel
has a tensile strength of 185,000 PSI minimum, and a minimum yield strength of 140,000 PSI.

TRIPLE HUMP RAKE (MODIFIED)

If you already own a SAD-Tool 3.0 this Rake can be carried with the tool - it has been modified so you can simply
just place it on the back of the spike tool, secure in position with the silicone bead provided and you're good to go!

TENSION WRENCH

The Tension Wrench applies tension to the lock as you rake and pick the lock.

The importance of tension cannot be stressed enough...
If there is too much, the pins will not be able to set correctly, and the same will happen if there is not enough tension.

From the options select the following:

Straight - you can bend it how you you want it! You may prefer applying tension at the top of keyway (TOK) or bottom of keyway (BOK).
Bend - this tension wrench will have a 90-degree bend for carry inside the Plan B, EBUTOG and our High Tensile Stainless Steel safety Pin.
Bend and Rotate - this tension wrench has a 90-degree bend and has been rotated to lay flat for carry on the APEK.

hard cold rolled to its full hard condition. This increases its fatigue life. In its full hard condition, type 304 stainless steel

STHIQ_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own...

The STHIQ is made from high tensile steel with a split ring handle and vinyl end cap.
Needle nose pliers will be required to shape the tool in the prescribed way.
In a pinch you can use door furniture (key-way, hinge etc.) to bend the shape required.

Some instructions are included to make a travellers hook and a bypass tool for wooden/aluminium doors
that can be found in Europe that are resistant to 'carding'. A bypass technique with high tensile wire,
can be used for these types of doors (demo to follow soon).

The STHIQ can also be shaped to perform other bypass tasks for padlocks and lever locks.

HOOKITOOL

This is the latest version of the original HOOKITOOL by Karl OscarDelta.

Designed to bypass latch locks on doors that open outwards, external security gates and any other exposed latch bolts
that can be hooked or shoved to bypass without a key. It is the same size a credit card and can be kept inside a wallet
with the LUGGAGE TAG LTX3 for shimming/carding latch locks on doors that open towards you.

Specification:

- Mild Steel
- Non-Reflective Flat Dark Grey Coating
- Eyelet Holes

How to HOOK an exposed latch bolt on a door:

First place the tip of the large hook behind the latch bolt and allow the hook to drop down as far as it will go.
Take hold of the tool near the lanyard hole and pull (you can add 550 cord).
If the tool starts to bend - STOP... for the door to open the latch bolt must move freely inside the strike plate.
If the latch bolt is held firmly inside the strike plate it will act like a dead bolt and it will not move.

There are various methods of entry to counter this:

Instead of pulling harder on the HOOKITOOL and putting more pressure on the latch bolt.
You should push on the door and at the same time pull on the HOOKITOOL.
This method will allow the latch bolt to move freely so it can be moved by the HOOKITOOL to open the door.

How to HOOK a security gate with external security plate installed:

On some security gates an external security plate will be installed cover the latch bolt.
This plate is designed to prevent 'shoving' - pushing the latch bolt inwards to release the gate.
The HOOKITOOL is perfectly balanced so when you attach 550 paracord the large hook part of the tool will be tilted forward.
This allows for the HOOKITOOL to be dropped behind the external security plate.
With the large hook tilted forward it will go under the latch bolt.
Pull firmly on the 550 cord to release the latch bolt.
If the tool starts to bend - STOP... pull the gate towards you and at the same time pull the HOOKITOOL.
This method of entry should release the latch bolt from the strike plate and allow for the gate to open.

The tool is mild steel, it is NOT a pry bar and it is NOT a grappling hook! It will only bend (not snap) if you are applying excessive force.
If you do bend the tool place it on a hard surface and strike firmly with a hammer or other solid object to flatten out.

LTX3: LUGGAGE TAG X3

Sometimes bypassing a lock is quicker than picking.

Designed for covert carry (same size as a credit card so fits inside a wallet), pliable enough to flex round the door and tough enough to slip
the latches (carding) on even the tightest of locks. The LTX3 is three cards of various thickness secured together by a blackened brass eyelet and
and a metal washer to assist with pushing the card in fully and extraction when required.

How to CARD a door:

Carding works on doors that are held closed by a latch bolt and open away from you.
If other locks are installed use the thinnest of the 3 cards to sweep around the door frame to check if they are in use - a deadbolt can not be carded.
Other 'hidden' locks and bolts may also be found during this sweep.
Once you are happy the door can be carded select the card that fits between the door and frame (ideally the thickest card).
Insert the top corner of the card near the top corner of the door (lock side).
Tilt at 45 degrees and slide (walk) the card down the door until you reach the lock.
Tilt at 90 degrees and push firmly into the door as far as it will go to reach the latch bolt.
As you push firmly on the card it should slip between the latch bolt and strike plate.
This will release the latch bolt and open the door (provided there are no other bolts or locks in use).
Some latch bolts have features that are designed to prevent 'carding'.

Top Tip for the Slip:

A common mistake is to lean on the door as you are trying to card/shim the door.
This puts pressure on the latch bolt so it is held firmly within the strike plate (just like a dead bolt).
Instead try pulling the door towards you as you card/shim and you will find the door opens much easier

Doors that open towards you...

Ideally you should also have access to the HOOKITOOL - Designed to bypass latch locks on doors that open towards you.

Using the template above it is possible to modify the LTX3 (silver card) so it can function like a 'Slim Jim' tool to bypass exposed latch locks that can
often be found on doors and security gates that open towards you. It does not work on security gate/doors with a security plate installed.
